Downtown Chelsea’s Palmer Commons will turn into a giant outdoor game table on Friday, Oct. 9, as the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Backyard Beer Garden.
The 21+ only event runs from 5 to 11 p.m. at Palmer Commons, 304 S. Main St. Guests can sample Michigan brews, special cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic beer, along with food from local favorites. On-site food trucks include Grateful Crow, Cookin’ with Beans, Cake by Kaity, Kane’s Sunset Sweets, and Thompson’s Pizza.
The games are free to play. Giant versions of Pong, Jenga, Connect 4, Kerplunk, flip cup, Snookball, and darts share the space with cornhole, Kan Jam, fowling, washer toss, and more. Quarantine Records will provide a live DJ.
Admission is $5 per person at the entrance. It’s a cash-only event, and there are no advance ticket sales.
The Chamber is also looking for volunteers 21 and older for event-day shifts, plus volunteers for Saturday cleanup. Volunteers receive free admission and a 2026 Backyard Beer Garden T-shirt, koozie, and sticker. Sign up here.
