The Chelsea Police Department issues a weekly summary of incidents reported in the city. The most recent report covers incidents from Sept. 1–5, including:
- A check fraud complaint in the 100 block of Madison Street after a mailed check was intercepted, altered, and fraudulently cashed through the mobile deposit option at the financial institution. The case was turned over to the investigator.
- An arrest in the 14000 block of E. Old US 12 after an officer stopped a vehicle for disregarding a traffic signal and veering across lanes. A Jackson man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to Washtenaw County Jail.
- An arrest near S. Main Street and Old US 12 after officers responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver in a silver Jeep. The officer observed the driver crossing the fog line and nearly striking a curb. After field sobriety tests, the Manchester woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to Washtenaw County Jail.
