Residents of Lyndon and neighboring townships served by the Multi Lake Water and Sewer Authority (MLWSA) are invited to attend free community information sessions on PFAS contamination detected in the MLWSA wastewater system.
PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are man-made chemicals linked to health concerns that have been found in water systems across Michigan and the country. MLWSA, which serves residents of Dexter, Lyndon, Putnam, and Unadilla townships, has been actively testing its wastewater treatment system for PFAS.
The sessions, co-hosted with the Huron River Watershed Council (HRWC), will share local monitoring data and discuss what the findings mean for public health, along with ways residents can reduce their PFAS exposure. Both sessions cover the same material. Attendance is free and open to the public.
