Last Monday, members of the Chelsea Kiwanis Club visited the South Lyon Kiwanis Club for what’s known as an interclub, when members from one club attend another’s meeting. This gathering brought together members from clubs across the division, making it a superinterclub.

Clubs in the division take turns hosting these meetings, which give members a chance to share what each club is doing to serve their communities, especially the needs of children. Ideas for increasing both membership and funds to make a bigger community impact were also discussed.
There are 10 Kiwanis Clubs in the division: Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor Western, Belleville Area, Brighton, Chelsea, Hamburg, Saline, South Lyon, Whitmore Lake, and Ypsilanti. The Michigan District includes 17 divisions and 129 clubs across the Lower Peninsula and eastern Upper Peninsula.
The Chelsea Kiwanis Club thanks the South Lyon club for the opportunity to learn and for an evening of camaraderie and a fine dinner.
Next Monday, the club will welcome Bereavement Coordinator Olivia Wilder from Ele’s Place Ann Arbor.
Community members are invited to join Chelsea Kiwanis at:
- The Children’s Fair Parade on Tuesday, Aug. 25, beginning in the lot behind Common Grill
- The club’s food concession trailer during the Chelsea Community Fair, next to the main arena
- The Charity Golf Outing on Sept. 25
