Learn the basics of moss and liverwort field identification at the Eddy Discovery Center on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Participants will use a hand lens to explore general patterns of moss ecology, including which species grow in upland or wetland habitats, and which are likely to be found on wood, soil, or rocks. The outing is led by Jeremy Hartsock, a faculty member in the MSU Department of Fisheries and Wildlife.

The walk will take place on the Bog Trail near the Eddy Discovery Center, about a mile each way (2 miles total).
Cost: $2/person or $5/family. Members are free. The program is limited to 15 participants. The Eddy Discovery Center is located at 17030 Bush Rd, Chelsea, MI, in the Waterloo Recreation Area near Chelsea.
