The Waterloo Natural History Association invites the public to join a guided walk celebrating the grand finale of the blooming season on Sunday, Sept. 13.
Ellen Holste of EnviroSpreak will lead “The Final Flourish: Michigan’s Asters and Goldenrods” from 2 to 3:30 p.m., exploring the key characteristics of the plants that fill fields and forests with brilliant shades of yellow, pink, purple, blue, and white this time of year. Participants will get up-close observations, tips on where to find them, how to identify common species, and learn why asters and goldenrods are so important to both wildlife and humans.

The program is limited to 15 participants. Cost is $2 per person or $5 per family; WNHA members are free. To register, email [email protected] with your name, phone number, and number of people attending.
The Eddy Discovery Center is located at 17030 Bush Rd. in the Waterloo Recreation Area near Chelsea.
