The annual Memorial Day Parade in downtown Chelsea takes place on Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. followed by a ceremony at Oak Grove Cemetery.
The parade route is as follows:
- Participants gather in Municipal Lot 1 (behind the Purple Rose Theatre) at 9:30.
- Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on E. Middle St. heading west to Main St.
- Travels south on Main St. to Park St.
- Travels east on Park St. to S. East St.
- Travels north on S. East St. to E. Middle St
- Continues on Middle St to Oak Grove Cemetery
The ceremony at Oak Grove Cemetery will feature a guest speaker and military honors.
The parade and ceremony are hosted by the Herbert J. McKune American Legion Post 31.
American Legion Herbert J. McKune Post 31 would like to extend an invitation to any veteran who would like to participate in the parade along side with Post 31. Participants are requested to show up at the Municipal Parking lot east of Main St at 9:30 a.m. Any veteran is welcomed, no organizational affiliation or uniforms required. Accommodations are available for those unable to march the entire route.
