Pianists Jacopo and Maddalena Giacopuzzi discovered their passion for music at an early age, spending years perfecting their skills and earning degrees at prominent conservatories. Both siblings have gained recognition in several national and international competitions and have performed as soloists and chamber musicians in multiple major international music festivals. While their individual styles and applications differ, they share a lifelong love of music and astonishing talent.

The Giacopuzzis have also been performing for audiences in Chelsea since 2017 as part of the Music in the Air concert series from the Chelsea District Library. The duo returns once again on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Chelsea First United Methodist Church (128 Park St., Chelsea, MI). They will perform both solo and four-hands pieces, the latter a format where two musicians share a single keyboard.
Back by popular demand, Music in the Air makes classical music more accessible by bringing international-caliber performances to the community without the barrier of expensive tickets, formal attire, or the need to sit perfectly still. All are invited to participate in this beloved library tradition.
This year brings a new twist: an “East Meets West” collaboration between the Chelsea District Library and the Ypsilanti District Library. The Giacopuzzi siblings will perform a morning concert in Ypsilanti before heading to Chelsea in the afternoon, bringing their immense talents to both the eastern and western reaches of Washtenaw County.
The concert is free and open to all ages.
