Planning your summer camping trip in a Michigan state park just got a little easier. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has rolled out a new flexible dates feature on its Michigan State Park and Harbor Reservations website, giving campers more options when searching for available sites.

The new tool appears as a “Flexible dates” toggle at the top of the dates menu. Rather than locking in specific dates upfront, visitors can enter the number of nights they need, select a preferred month, indicate whether they’re looking for a weekend stay, and choose a state park. The system will then search and display what’s available.
The flexible date tool can be used to reserve campsites, lodging and harbor slips across Michigan’s state park system.
With reservations opening up to six months in advance, campers can currently book sites into September, covering prime summer camping season.
