The Michigan Conservation Stewardship for Farmers Project (MCSFP), a USDA-funded initiative, has opened enrollment for farms in southeast Michigan. The program will invest a total of $3 million in participating farms through September 2028.
Farms of all scales and scopes in Washtenaw, Wayne, Monroe, Lenawee, and Hillsdale counties are eligible to apply. Eligible farm owner applicants will work with Conservation District staff to identify on-farm conservation practices and/or marketing support practices for their operation.
The program is designed to put more resources directly into farmers’ hands through cost-share payments, with a goal of fewer administrative hurdles and more dollars invested on farms.
