The City of Chelsea’s fall leaf pickup starts Monday, Oct. 19, so this weekend is a good time for city residents to start raking.
Pickup runs through Nov. 25. The city asks residents to rake leaves to the lawn extension, between the sidewalk and the street. Please keep leaves out of the street and avoid covering storm drains.
If you’d rather drop off your leaves, the Solid Waste Department has a compost pile that takes bags of leaves, weeds, plants, yard rakings, and grass clippings. There is no charge for residents. Non-residents pay $1 per bag.
