The Chelsea Monitors vintage baseball club will host their 10th annual charity match, “Tallies for Charity,” on Monday, May 25 at Normandy Oaks Park in Royal Oak — with all proceeds benefiting Trek for Vets, the 500-mile veteran awareness walk that passed through Chelsea last week.
Trek for Vets is the 500-mile walk across Michigan raising awareness and support for veterans struggling with isolation and personal and medical crises. The 2026 trek passed through Chelsea on May 22 and concludes in Royal Oak on May 25 as part of the Royal Oak Memorial Day Parade. The Monitors will participate in the parade before playing two games against the Royal Oak Wahoos, Detroit Franklins, and Ferndale Welcome Campbells. All donations raised will go directly to Trek for Vets.
Those unable to attend can donate via Venmo (note “Trek for Vets” in comments), or by mailing a check made out to “Chelsea Monitors” with “Trek for Vets” on the memo line to 130 S. East St., Chelsea, MI 48118. For other ways to donate, contact the Monitors at [email protected] or 248-930-6130.
