Kids in costume can trick-or-treat along a half-mile trail at Baker Woods Preserve during the Not-Too-Scary StoryBook Trail on Monday, Oct. 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. The drop-in event, hosted by Chelsea District Library, is for ages 2 and up. Baker Woods Preserve is located at 11914 Trinkle Rd.
The children’s book on the trail is Gustavo the Shy Ghost by Flavia Z. Drago. It’s about a ghost who is so shy he’s nearly invisible, and whether he’ll find friends. Library staff and volunteers will hand out treats along the way.

Know before you go: Baker Woods is a nature preserve with no facilities and limited parking. The trail is roughly cut and best for kids ages 2 and up who can walk on their own. Per Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation, dogs aren’t allowed in the preserve.
