The Chelsea Police Department issues a weekly summary of incidents reported in the city. The most recent report covers incidents from Sept. 21–26, including:
- An assault complaint near the 500 block of S. Main Street after a report of a large group in the park area, including claims that one person gestured as though armed and another displayed a closed pocketknife. Officers identified two suspects, found neither was armed, and traced the incident to a verbal dispute with another group in the park. The case was turned over to the investigator, with possible charges pending prosecutor review.
- A hit-and-run after a motorist struck a parked vehicle in the 1600 block of S. Main Street and was located by officers in the 1200 block, where the vehicle struck a concrete island as they approached. Officers found an open bottle of vodka within reach of the driver. A Marshall woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following field sobriety tests, then transported to Washtenaw County Jail.
