Veterans and active-duty service members and their families are invited to a free day of food, activities and resource support at the 2026 Washtenaw County Vet Fest on Saturday, Aug. 1.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Washtenaw Community College, 4800 E. Huron River Drive. Pre-registration is required at washtenaw.cc/vetfest26.
Now in its fifth year, the event is organized by WCC’s Wadhams Veterans Center in partnership with veterans organizations across Washtenaw County. More than 30 veteran resource providers are expected, along with Veteran Service Officers on hand to help attendees file claims.
Planned activities include live music, carnival games, K-9 demonstrations, military vehicle and aircraft displays, kids’ activities such as balloon art and face painting, and a new gaming tent where visitors can play video and tabletop games. A blood drive and a fully operational Secretary of State office will also be on site. Several veteran-owned businesses will be featured.
Admission, parking, lunch and ice cream are free, and hourly prize raffles will be held throughout the day. Visitors are encouraged to wear something representing their branch of service for extra raffle entries.
WCC serves about 500 veteran students and their families through the Wadhams Veterans Center, located in the campus Student Center. The college is recognized by the Michigan Veterans’ Affairs Agency as a gold-level veteran-friendly school, the agency’s highest honor.
